Your senses are sure to come alive when you experience the delights of the Maitland Aroma Coffee and Chocolate Festival on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 August at the Maitland Riverside Carpark.
The annual event brings together some of the Hunter’s finest baristas, roasters and chocolatiers over two days in a celebration of coffee, chocolate and all things decadent and delicious that promises to ward off the winter chill. The event program is packed with things to do including live demonstrations, outdoor lounge areas, kids cafe and a host of live music across the weekend.
Local café Sweet Retreat, which on any normal day serve up delicious coffee, tea, cakes and meals in The Levee Shared Zone, are particularly excited about Maitland Aroma. Next weekend they will be doing it a bit differently and setting up shop in a shipping container at the Riverside Carpark, as well as staying open in their normal location.
Sweet Retreat owner Debbie Tsoprow says, ‘We are all really excited for Aroma and to be part of such a big event is always great for our business. We are also taking the opportunity to sell our new Super Shakes in the shipping container. They are a unique take on the everyday milkshake and I am sure they will be a big hit with customers’.
Aroma will host around 80 stalls and will also bring with it great street art to Central Maitland, a colourful laneway café and much more.
Maitland City Council Events Coordinator Adam Franks says, ‘Maitland Aroma provides yet another opportunity to showcase the many talented people and businesses in our region. Each stallholder offers something different so there really will be something for everyone.
‘Aroma brought more than 15,000 people to Central Maitland last year and we expect it to be even bigger next weekend. Because it has been so successful over the last few years it attracts the best producers from around the region, so it really should not be missed this year’.
The event runs from 10.00am to 4.00pm on both days. For more information about Maitland Aroma, including a schedule, event map and parking information, visit maitlandaroma.com.au
