Easy Like Sunday Morning

Those who like their Sundays over easy need venture no further than The Levee. You don’t need to go far to find something to do with your Sunday.

You’ve got to love Sunday morning feels! When you wake and it dawns on you that you don’t have to hit the ground running, you can hit snooze and ease into a blissful day of doing as much or as little as you like.

Sundays are prime time to recharge for the week ahead, so give the Netflix a miss and get out for some fresh air, maybe do brunch or bury yourself in a bookstore or gallery, tackle that DIY project, take the kids somewhere fun or just take it easy.

Wake up and smell the coffee! A long, lazy breakfast or brunch has Sunday written all over it. Cycle or stroll to The Levee and you’re spoilt for choice, along the bank of the river.

Get stuck into their signature Big Breakfast and the Sunday papers, shaded by a big old orange tree on the riverside deck of The Orange Tree Café. Sit on the sunny desk or snuggle under the shade of an old orange tree, all while taking in the views of The Hunter River and enjoying the best meal of the day.

Follow the Riverside Walk and you’ll stumble on Lavenders Riverside Café with alfresco seating right out on the riverfront and wide open spaces where the kids can run wild while you enjoy your eggs bene.

You can grab and go freshly squeezed juices or breakfast bites, like an Acai bowl with seasonal fruit and a dollop of Nutella, from the front window of The Whistler. Or dine in and linger a little longer over a Nourish Bowl or Breakfast Stack.

Or cycle down and pull up a seat at a communal table for seriously good coffee, delicious raw food and vegan options at Bikesmith & Espresso where you can relax and enjoy the urban buzz while they tinker with your bike out back.

If you do nothing else on your Sunday, soak in a little sunshine or even make the most of a low key rainy day by venturing out for some window shopping along the High Street and a stroll down The Levee laneways.

A hidden away NAB laneway walk-through has been reimagined with eye catching planter boxes that create a sense of place. Keep an eye out for pop up street eats, street art and even impromptu piano players, bringing new life into these once forgotten corners of the city.
