Maitland Taste will serve up the goods on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 March at The Levee Shared Zone, with highly regarded chef Cory Campbell featuring as one of the event’s special guests.
Cory, who has worked at Matt Moran’s award winning Barangaroo House in Sydney, Vue de Monde in Melbourne and the two Michelin Star ‘Noma’ in Copenhagen, has a passion for fresh ingredients and for creating meaningful and delicious food for the people around him. Cory will host a range of cooking demonstrations at the festival, showcasing what he’s learned over the course of his acclaimed career.

Cory says, ‘I’m excited about coming to Maitland Taste. It will be great to spend some time with the locals, do some cooking and hopefully bring something new and different to the event. ‘While I currently live in Sydney, I’m from the Hunter so I feel I have a very strong connection to the area and all the amazing produce that can be found there. I’m keen to share some of my favourite recipes and I hope I can provide people with some skills or techniques that they’ll be able to take home and implement into their cooking’.

Festival goers will be able to enjoy great food, Hunter wine and desserts at the event and there will be a diverse activity program including live art, produce markets, and lots of activities for the kids. Cooking demonstrations will also be run by local chefs and there will be a range of urban gardening demonstrations.

Council’s Coordinator Events Adam Franks says, ‘We’re really excited to have Cory at Maitland Taste this year. His food is world class so I know his demonstrations are going to be something very special’.

‘Maitland Taste is a great event with a diverse offering so I encourage everyone to pencil 9 and 10 March in their calendar. It will be a great weekend showcasing some of the many wonderful things our region has to offer.’

Maitland Taste is on from 10.00am to 4.00pm on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 March. For more about the event go to
