Expressions of Interest are now open for businesses interested in a long term tenancy in The Hatch at The Levee.
Council’s City Economy Officer Andrew Brown says, ‘This is an exciting time for Central Maitland and for anyone looking to make a name for themselves and their business. Its prominent position at The Levee and practical fitout makes it an ideal proposition for a range of business types.’
To support the strategic direction for the revitalisation of Central Maitland, which includes the transformation of The Levee into the city’s premier lifestyle precinct, Council is now looking for businesses that can make a positive contribution to the food and beverage or lifestyle retail options already available in the precinct.
Earlier this year Council opened The Hatch as an incubator for new and untried businesses from around the city. These businesses could set up shop at no charge and over a short period, operate in the heart of Central Maitland to test their business idea. After providing 16 local start ups with a temporary home, and with Component Two now underway, the time is right for The Hatch to evolve.
‘The Hatch has proven to be a great addition to The Levee Shared Zone and short term tenants have provided us with very positive feedback about its location and the opportunity it provides,’ added Mr Brown.
